Abstract

La Colección Herpetológica del Museo de Historia Natural de la Universidad de los Llanos, es la primera colección en la región de la Orinoquia, con registro nacional de colecciones No. 255 de mayo de 2020. Los primeros especímenes fueron depositados en el 2011 y actualmente tiene 518 especímenes, pertenecientes a 5 órdenes, principalmente de los departamentos del Meta, Casanare y Vichada. En el año 2020 se agregaron 11 nuevos registros, en el 2021 se agregaron 394 nuevos registros y en el 2023, 113 nuevos registros. En el futuro la Colección Herpetológica-MHNU, permitirá aumentar el conocimiento de la diversidad de invertebrados en la región de la Orinoquia y será vital como soporte para la toma de decisiones de manejo y administración de los recursos naturales.
