African Decapoda Crustacea collection - MUHNAC
The collection of African decapod crustaceans is part of the Crustacea collection of the Museu Nacional de História Natural e da Ciência, Universidade de Lisboa. It comprises 1114 accessions, which correspond to about 4528 specimens of decapod crustaceans belonging to 86 families. Most of these specimens are part of a batch that was deposited in the museum between 1984 and 1990 by the former Instituto de Investigação das Pescas and Centro de Zoologia do Instituto de Investigação Científica e Tropical and comprises specimens collected in the missions promoted by the Government of Portugal to the former Portuguese territories in Africa, in the decades of 40 to 60 of the sec. XX. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ A colecção de crustáceos decápodes africanos faz parte da Colecção de Crustáceos do Museu Nacional de História Natural e da Ciência, Universidade de Lisboa. Compreende 1107 entradas, que correspondem a cerca de 4516 espécimes, pertencentes a 86 famílias. Na sua maioria, estes exemplares fazem parte de um conjunto que foi depositado, entre 1984 e 1990, pelo então Instituto de Investigação das Pescas e pelo Centro de Zoologia do Instituto de Investigação Científica Tropical e compreende espécimes colectados em missões aos antigos territórios portugueses em África, promovidas pelo estado português nas décadas de 40 a 60 do séc. XX.
