Abstract

La diversidad biológica mexicana está bien representada en museos de Estados Unidos de América y de varios países europeos. En particular, The Natural History Museum (London), Inglaterra, alberga una importante colección de mamíferos mexicanos colectados desde mediados del siglo XIX y que incluyen más de 70 ejemplares holotipo. Este proyecto se funadamenta en la necesidad de documentar dicha diversidad para tener disponibles en México los datos precisos derivados del estudio de estos ejemplares. El proyecto se propone crear una base con toda la información disponible y la verificaciópn de la identificación de los ejemplares bajo resguardo de The Natural History Museum (London), así como preparar un catálogo de los ejemplares holotipo y revisar los esqueletos postcraneales de las especies que se ditribuyen en México.Reino: 1 Filo: 1 Clase: 1 Orden: 10 Familia: 31 Género: 111 Subgénero: 1 Especie: 195 Epitetoinfraespecifico: 122
