Abstract

Unpooled catches of adult Carabid beetles collected from pitfall traps at terrestrial NEON sites. Sampling Catch collected biweekly (every 14 days) during the green season Ten distributed base plots (pre-2023) or six plots (2023 onward) per site Four traps (pre-2018) or three traps (2018 onward) per plot Methods Pitfall traps (16-oz cups with propylene glycol) Preservation Trap contents sorted into identified adult Carabids, other invertebrates, herpetiles, and small mammals. Representative Carabids may be pinned and optionally sent for DNA barcoding In this sample type, unpinned adult Carabid catches from each trap are retained and archived separately (not pooled) Stored in 95% ethanol at controlled temperature and humidity
