Abstract
A coleção de Lepidoptera do Museu de Zoologia da Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP) conta, atualmente, com cerca de 20.000 indivíduos montados, e aproximadamente 200.000 exemplares envelopados a serem preparados no futuro. Os exemplares são provenientes de diversas regiões da América do Sul, mas a grande maioria é do Brasil, com um volume enorme de material recente do Estado de São Paulo como resultado do projeto Biota-Fapesp. A maior parte do acervo constitui a coleção científica, destinada principalmente ao atendimento de pesquisadores interessados no estudo de Lepidoptera.
